I'm trying to decide what book I want to read next. My kindle has so many great choices that I'm finding it hard to pick one. It's like trying to eat just one potato chip. You want more than one. Unfortunately, I can only read one book at a time.
Any recommendations for great books?

Girl Scout Cookies
Girl Scout Cookies are
delicious, which in my case is a bad thing. Last week, I got the Girl Scout
Cookies I ordered. Needless to say, I gained a little bit of weight this week.
I’m thinking the Girl Scout Cookies added to that. The good news is these cookies
only come once a year. It’s more important to remember you can eat the things
you want than to stress over a little weight gain. It’s the progress over time
not just one week that matter.
So, I’m okay with gaining
a little this week. I’m trying to do better this week. Activity is a key for me
too. I wasn’t able to be as active as I wanted last week. No time for treadmill
added to the gain as well. I’ve already done better this week. I’m hoping to
keep it up.

Weekend Reading
I've had a busy week with late nights and no time to read. No reading makes me sad. I've even managed to get behind in TV shows as well. So, this weekend I hope to start reading a book and get all catch up on TV shows. Oh and I need to finish my taxes. Ugh! I'd rather forget that last part. I should definitely reward myself with books when I get done with taxes.
What are you reading or watching this weekend?

No Change
This week I didn't lose any weight. On the plus side, I didn't gain any weight either. I weighed the same this Monday as I did last Monday. The fact that I weigh the same, but did good with my eating shows me that being active helps me to feel better and to lose weight. The end of last week, I still didn't feel good and didn't get on the treadmill or anything. I'm hoping to be more active this week and to lose something. Well to lose weight, not my mind.

Psych
I'm starting to feel better, but not quite up to reading this weekend. Instead of reading, I spent the weekend catching up on Psych. Somehow I got 6 episodes behind this season. With Psych returning on February 29, I needed to catch up.
Many great hours of laughter. I'm looking forward to its return. Laughter really is the best medicine. Psych provides that in spades.

Weekend Reading
I went to the doctor and got meds. I'm hoping to feel better and get some reading done this weekend. Also, I have some TV shows to get caught up on. The days and nights just don't have enough hours for all the fun things I want to do.

Feeling Blah
This past week I haven't felt the greatest. My sinuses are bothering me along with a pain behind my left eye. The sinus pressure makes reading and concentrating difficult. I have much to say about books, but the energy to write it down and have it make sense is beyond me today.

Kindle Touch Lighted Cover
Picking a cover
for your Kindle can be difficult. I had a hard time figuring out exactly what I
wanted in a cover. Recently, I had issues with clip on light I use when I read.
So, I looked through the covers on Amazon. I found the Amazon Kindle Touch Lighted Leather Cover.
In the past, this
cover for the Kindle Keyboard had hook hinges to hold the Kindle in place. The
Kindle Touch version has the Kindle popping in place. The cover is a little
expensive, but I wanted a cover that I would like with a easy to use light
since I read a lot on my Kindle.
I ordered one last
week. I must say I have enjoyed it so far. The Kindle Touch is hold securely in
place for hours of reading. The light is placed at the top center of the cover
and lights up the entire screen well. The cover is comfortable to hold while
reading. The light runs off the Kindle’s battery. I haven’t noticed a significant
decrease in the Kindle’s battery when I use the light. I like the fact I don’t
have to worry about my light going dim or having to change the batteries in the
light.
I’ve had the cover
a week and so far I recommend the lighted cover.

Still Losing = Me Happy
I lost 1.4 pounds in the last week. I'm pleased with my progress.
Over the weekend, I didn't feel well so I was less active. I'm just happy I'm
still losing weight each week and my jeans fit better than they did two weeks
ago.
It's amazing how little changes can make a difference. If I could
do better on the days I work, I would probably be losing more weight per week.
However, I'm good with my progress.
I can tell a difference when I exercise too. I've started with
walking on the treadmill. On the days I get on the treadmill, I feel better and
sleep better.

How Do You Buy Books?
I tend to buy books as they release, but it depends on how much
money I have to spend. So, I've also got lists of books I want and use my wish
list on Amazon to keep track of the ones I want to buy. If I haven't read the
first books in the series, I usually put the rest of the books on my to-buy
list.
I love having the books waiting for me on my Kindle to read. When
I'm looking for a book to read, I go through my Kindle library to find the one
I want.
How do you buy books? Do you buy them as they release or do you
have a to-buy list?

What are you reading this weekend?
Life has gotten in the way of my reading this week. I plan to finish Fatal Flaw this weekend. I can't wait to get back to it. I think I need to schedule some uninterrupted time to read.
What are you reading?

My Kindle Love
I started reading
ebooks long before Kindles and Nooks were available. The first formats I read
were mobipocket and ereader on my PDA. I loved being able to take numerous
books with me anywhere I went. Unfortunately, at the time not all books were
available in ebook format. Some that where available were pricey. I found I
read more books that I could find in ebook format and didn't read many of the
paper books I had sitting on my bookshelf. I was very happy when Kindle format
became available. Now so many more books are available in ebook format. I
rarely pick up a paper book.
I love my Kindle! I
confess I have more than one Kindle. I got a Kindle Touch for my birthday back
in November. I had a Kindle Keyboard and loved it. Then I got the Touch and my
love increased. The little things the Touch can do that my Keyboard can’t made
reading even easier.
I love on the Kindle
Touch how I can easy search titles, authors, collections, or most recent by
using page number or beginning letter. It's easier to select collections to add
my books to because I can search without having to click through all the pages.
The little differences make for an even more enjoyable read.
I still read on my
Kindle Keyboard as well. My dad finally gave in and bought a Kindle Touch. So far
he enjoys it. He had an accident at work seven years ago that limits the use of
his right hand. Holding a paper book in his hand and turning the pages is too
difficult for him. The Kindle eliminates this problem.
Plus, my books sync
across my devices. The Kindle app on my iPhone and iPad are easy to read on. My
bookmarks and other notes sync from one device to another. No matter where I am
I always have a book with me.
Do you read on an
ereader or do you still read paper books?

Weight Watchers and Me
I've lost weight on Weight Watchers in the past. Over the holidays, I
noticed my jeans have gotten a little bit tighter. It might have been from all
the Cherry Chocolate Cookies I baked. Anyhoodles, I knew I need to do something
because frankly I don't want to spend money on new jeans. I would much rather
spend that money on books.
Last Monday, I started over on Weight
Watchers. I'm happy to report I lost 2.2 pounds in the last week. I must
confess I didn't stay in my points range everyday, but I definitely ate better
than when I wasn't following a plan. My day job makes it difficult to eat right
on the days I work. I'm trying to get better with what I eat those days. It
ain't easy.
The Weight Watchers app for my iPhone and iPad
helped me to keep track of my points. Also, I've tried the new Weight Watchers
Scanner app that will scan the barcode number on many products and tell me the
Points Plus values, which has been very convenient for me. These apps make
it much easier to stay on track.
I've also discovered that having fresh fruits
and vegetables in the house help me to not feel hungry because I can eat all of
them I want. They have 0 Points Plus values. Plus, all the added nutrients from
them. I do feel better when I eat better.
Last week, I managed to get on the treadmill
three times. I would like to do more. Gradually, I plan to increase the amount
of exercise each week.
I bought a book as my reward at the end of the
week. I told myself if I could put in my points everyday (no matter how much
over I went) and exercised at least three times, I could buy a book. The book
was Sweet Stuff by Donna Kauffman. I wanted the book and liked that it is part
of her Cupcake Club series.
These days so many of us are trying to lose
some weight. I'll will try to post every week about my progress and what has
worked for me. These posts will help me to be accountable. Life gets busy and
it's far to easy to tell yourself that one treat or splurge on food will be
fine this one time. Often that's what starts my eating to go towards the foods
that aren't good for me.
I don't look at what I'm doing as a diet. I
view it as a different way of eating. I can still have the things I want to
eat. Now, I am more aware of the foods that make my jeans too tight and have it
in moderation.
What ways do you lose weight or maintain the
weight you want?

Fatal Flaw by Marie Force
Fatal Flaw releases today. I've been looking forward to this book since Labor Day when I finished reading Fatal Destiny. The Fatal series follows the same couple, Sam and Nick, throughout each book.
I love the way Marie Force has me turning the pages with each new book.
Sam and Nick are three dimensional characters who keep me coming back for more.
The cast of supporting characters are well written. Sometimes when I'm reading a book and the POV (point of view) changes
to a secondary character I am anxious to get back to the hero or heroine's POV.
However, I haven't felt this way with any of the Fatal books. The
secondary characters are well written and you care about them as a reader.
I highly recommend reading this series. Book
one is Fatal Affair. All the book information can be found on Marie Force's website.
I'm off to read Fatal Flaw. I arranged my day with the hope of sitting
down and reading. Here's hoping for no interruptions.

Sex, Lies and Mistletoe by Tawny Weber
Sex, Lies and Misteltoe is
book one in Tawny Weber's Undercover Operatives series. Caleb and Pandora kept me turning
the pages. I loved every minute of their romance and hated to see the book end.
Caleb is undercover trying
to figure out who is running drugs in his home town. Suspicions surround
Pandora due to the aphrodisiacs in the food she creates for her family shop. As
much as he tries, Caleb can't resist Pandora. I love how he can’t resist her. The attraction between them sizzled.
A great read any time of
the year. I'm looking forward to the next book, Sex, Lies and Midnight.

Love the Beginning of the Month
New releases always make me happy. Harlequin books release today. I'm a sucker for a great romance. One day I should count the number of Harlequin books I own. They are great reads.
I love the Harlequin Blaze line. I usually end up buying all six of them each month. I also love the Harlequin Romantic Suspense, Romance, Superromance, and Intrigue lines. Add in a little HQN and Mira and I'm a happy girl.
I have found some Harlequin Present titles that I've liked lately. I hadn't ventured much into that line until recently.
Do you like Harlequin books? Which ones do you find yourself buying each month?
