I've gotten behind in reading this week. I hope to change that this weekend. I'm ready to get wrap up in a book.

Back to Writing
I had taken some time off from writing to recharge. I was feeling a little burnt out. Now, I'm recharged and working on outlining my next work in progress (WIP).
Unfortunately, I will be reading less romance and may not reach my 100 books goal this year. On the bright side, I will have a book of my own written regardless of whether it gets published or not.
I'm off to outline and attempt to plot more than I have in the past.
Have a great, productive Thursday!

Product Placement in TV Shows
In the age of DVRs and fast forwarding through commercials, I've noticed more product placement within TV Shows. The ones I've noticed have actually been effective in getting me to consider buying the product.
Snyder's of Hanover Pretzels have shown up in episodes Psych several times. I have to admit I found myself look at Snyder's of Hanover products when I was at the grocery store and bought a couple of pretzel varieties.
I don't mind the product placement when it flows with the story line and isn't obviously just there for advertisement.
How do you feel about product placement? Like it? Hate it?

Same as Last Week
Bad news is I didn't lose any weight this week. The good news is I didn't gain any weight. I weigh exactly the same as last week. So no change makes me happy.

Woo to the Hoo! 5 Pounds Less
I'm happy to report I reached my 5 pound milestone in weight loss. I've lost a total of 6.4 pounds. There have been ups and downs to reach this milestone. They were all worth it.
I had to remember when I didn't stay on track to not get down on myself. I just had to do better tomorrow. I still have a few more pounds to go to reach my weight goal. The amazing feeling of reaching 5 pounds will stay with me.

Release Day for Worth the Scandal & Everything You've Got
Today is the release day for Worth the Scandal by Karen Erickson and Everything You've Got by Erin Nicholas. I'm so excited. I've been looking forward to these books.
Strictly business? Try telling that to her heart…
Worth It, Book 1
Alexander Worth, President and CEO of Worth Luxury Goods, is a man never to be crossed. His unwavering sense of responsibility to the family business requires him to always be in complete and utter control. Until it comes to Tessa Crawford.
She’s quietly professional, shy, voluptuous…and she works for him. Which means she is the one woman he must never touch, no matter how hard his gut twists with need for her.
After rising above her disadvantaged childhood, Tessa knows the last thing she should do is risk throwing it all away by falling into bed with her sexy boss. But on an extended European business trip, all self-imposed barriers burn away in the heat of their sizzling chemistry.
Once back home, though, whispers of corporate espionage turn into full-blown scandal—and Tessa finds out the hard way where Alex’s loyalties lie. Determined to soldier on, she picks herself up and carries on with a secret, yet welcomed burden. Never guessing that Alex will make a reappearance in her life, ready to show her once and for all that family does, indeed, come first.

A girl, a guy, a set of handcuff... What more could happily ever after possibly need?
Anything & Everything, Book 2
Luke Hamilton's requirements for the perfect woman are straightforward: live, work and play in his beloved hometown-and get along with his mother. Dr. Kat Dayton's got it all. And Luke's noticed. It's obvious to him that his long-time friend belongs with him, especially after the world-rocking kiss she lays on him at his birthday party.
While Kat can't deny she's imagined a kiss like that—and more—for years, she's less convinced they're destined for happily ever after. Still, Luke figures that's nothing a friendly kidnapping and a three-day road trip won't fix.
Kat would love to let Luke in, but if he discovers the truth—that committee meetings bore her to tears and she'd rather have a root-canal than go to another potluck—his white-picket-fence dreams will be crushed.
Being stuck in an RV with Luke should be three days of flirtatious fun, but for Kat it's heavenly hell. The close confines and good old-fashioned lust are making a mockery of her perfect-woman façade, and if he finds out about the mistake that might cost her job—and force her to leave town for good—it'll take more than a sexy pair of handcuffs to keep him close.
Warning: Contains a man who's willing to do anything for the perfect woman, an RV and surprise road-trip to help him prove it, and a woman who's wondering just what the hell she's gotten into.

Back in the Reading Groove
Life got in the way of my reading the past couple of weeks. Too many adult responsibilities, but such is life. Nothing but time helped me get over this reading slump.
I'm happy to say I finished Have Me by Jo Leigh last night. It is a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now, I'm excited about finding the next book I want to read.
Do you ever have reading slumps? What gets you over them?

Difficult to Focus
The past
few weeks I've had a lot on my mind. Some changes that may be happening in my
life. Usually, reading helps me to relax. Over the weekend, I found it too
difficult to focus. I want to enjoy reading and remember what I read. I'm still
reading Have Me. I'm about 65% done. The last part of the book is where the
reader gets to enjoy the couples HEA. I'm hoping to be able to focus soon. I
really want to know how Have Me ends.
Do you
ever find times you can't focus to read? What helps you through these times?

Back on Track
I've managed to get back on track with eating better. This week shows I lost 1.6 pounds for the week with a total loss of 4.4 pounds. Most important is I can tell a difference in how my clothes fit and that makes it all worth it.
The key to losing weight is to keep eating better. Times will come when you eat things you shouldn't, but you can always get back on track. Remember to not feel guilty when you get off track. Just be determined to work your way back on track.

Choose Me by Jo Leigh
Another great read from Jo Leigh. The characters had me turning the pages. I was hooked to see how Bree and Charlie would overcome their own reasons for not falling in love to do just that. Choose Me is the perfect weekend read that will put a small on your face.
Choose Me is the first book in the It's Trading Men! series. I'm looking forward to reading the second book, Have Me.

Catherine Mann's Dark Ops Series
Catherine Mann's Dark Ops series is waiting patiently for me on my Kindle. I've been wanting to start this series. With the release of the next book in the series, Protector, today, I now have four books in the series to read and even more reasons to start reading. Each book in the series sounds like great reads. They are definitely on my must read next list.

Eating Splurges
This past week
hasn't been the greatest with keeping in my points. On Saturday, my dad, my
sister, and I had a rare night out with just the three of us. So, I splurged on
my food. I don't feel one moment of guilt over it. That's the great thing about
changing the way I eat. If I eat better the majority of the time, I don't feel
guilt about the times I choose to splurge.
I did manage to lose
a little over the past week. Here's planning for an even better week.

What young adult books do you recommend?
I am looking for
good young adult books to recommend to my eleven year old cousin. She has a joy
for reading that I want to help encourage. I haven't read many young adult
books. Any recommendations would be very helpful.
