Temporary Arrangement (The Renaldis) by Karen Erickson

Temporary Arrangement by Karen Erickson is now available and it’s currently free. I’m looking forward to reading about the Renaldis.

Prequel to TEMPTED BY HER BOSS

Look, but don’t touch…

The Renaldis

Alone and broke, Paige Stewart can’t believe her good luck. Who hires a virtual stranger out of a New York City coffee shop to care for their adorable grandson? Apparently Claudia Renaldi does.

Widower Matteo Renaldi isn’t pleased that his mother found a replacement nanny so soon after he fired the last one. Yet little Matty takes to Paige like no other nanny before. And Matteo can’t deny he’s quite taken with her as well. She’s beautiful. Sweet. And far, far too young for him.

There’s something about the gorgeously sexy Matteo that fills Paige with longing to break through his wall of formality and touch his softer side. But no one knows better than she that crushing on her boss is one thing. Acting on those feelings is forbidden. Foolish.

Inevitable…

Tempting Cameron by Karen Erickson Releases Today & My Review

Karen Erickson is a must read author for me. I love her writing and enjoy every book I’ve read. She’s done it again with Tempting Cameron. It’s book two in the Lone Pine Lake series.

Chloe is the town princess. The girl next door that everyone loves, but she’s looking for an adventure in the form of her life long crush, Cameron. Cameron wants Chloe, but he always leaves and doesn’t want to break her heart when he does. This combination leads to a great read where the chemistry between them has you turning the pages.

Chloe is so lovable. You can see her being one of your friends. Cameron is moody and a bit of an ass in the beginning. He definitely redeems himself by the end. He grows so much throughout the book with Chloe’s help and love. There journey is full of emotion, tears, joy, love, and happiness.

I enjoyed every moment of their journey. I recommend this book to any reader looking for a sweet, sexy romance. Another great read from Karen Erickson!

5 Stars = A Must Read

Note: I received an ARC of this book.

For Cameron McKenzie, Chloe Dawson has always just been his younger sister Jane’s best friend—a pesky annoyance who followed him around and acted like he hung the moon. It isn’t until Jane’s wedding to her firefighter beau Chris that Chloe reappears in his life…and she isn’t pesky or annoying anymore. In fact, the beautiful Chloe tempts him beyond reason. But Cam knows he’s damaged goods—not nearly good enough for Lone Pine Lake’s resident good girl.

Chloe’s always dreamed of a future with the dark, brooding Cam, and after they share an explosive kiss, she wonders if her dream could be coming true. Cam’s never stuck around his hometown for long, though, so she makes him an offer: one sweet summer romance with no strings attached. This good girl’s ready for an adventure…one that just might end up lasting a lifetime.

Welcome Karen Erickson to the blog. I’m so happy to have her here today. She’s sharing about her latest release, Worth the Challenge. I've been waiting for Rhett’s story. I’m reading it now. It’s everything I hoped it would be and more.  It’s third in the Worth It series. If you haven’t read this series, you’re missing out.

Karen is giving away a $50 giftcard (Amazon or B&N) to one lucky reader who follows her book tour. Open internationally. Keep up with Karen’s book tour here for other fun giveaways. Enter below for your chance to win.

Without further ado, here’s Karen . . .

(A big thank you, Stephanie for letting me share a bit of Rhett today here at your blog!)

Poor, poor Rhett Worth. He’s trying to do what’s right. Walk the straight and narrow line, throw himself into his work and focus on the new project his brothers gave him to work on. But the pretty perfumer he’s working with distracts him and he can’t get her out of his head. What’s a man to do? Be strong or give in to temptation?

Please enjoy this exclusive, never before seen teaser of an excerpt from Worth the Challenge, the latest in the Worth It series:

She was unexpectedly sassy and hell if that little hint of attitude didn’t turn him on. He’d tried his best to ignore her on the plane, diving headfirst into work, keeping his eyes focused on the laptop screen and not her. Sitting across from him, her pretty legs crossed and giving him a flash of ankle and shin, the teasing glimpse made him sweat.

Her shin and ankle, for the love of God. He was a boob man, an ass man. The sort of man who used to ask women to flash him their tits and they would do so willingly. Flash their chests, lift their skirts, it had all been so easy.

And now that he reflected on his past, it had been so empty.

He’d done a one-eighty because he knew it was the right thing to do. And he was still tempted—even more so, since she was like the forbidden fruit. Either Gabriella Durand had been sent by the devil himself to lure him back to the dark side or it was already too late.

Rhett was going straight to hell and there was no turning back.

Misery coursing through him, he watched as she walked down to the beach, her steps careful, her hair billowing all around her with the breeze. The dress she wore exposed an inordinate amount of skin compared to what she usually wore, and all of that pretty, creamy skin was on flagrant display. Waiting for the intense sun to char it to a bright red color, which he knew would be painful.

He was obsessed with her. Couldn’t get her out of his head, couldn’t stop wondering what it might be like, to really kiss her. Take her hand and lead her to his room. Strip that dress right off her and see her naked.

Want more? Oh, you know you do!

Worth The Challenge book blurb:

Together, they’re magic. Now to capture it in a bottle…
Worth It, Book 3

For once in his errant life, Rhett Worth is ready to prove to his older brothers he’s more than good looks and a woman-melting smile. Except he’s screwed up. And it’s about to hit the fan as he prepares to tell them he’s failed to deliver the master perfumer, Michel Durand, to create Worth Luxury’s signature scent.
Then salvation walks through the boardroom door, all wrapped up in a petite, seductive package.

Gabriella Durand is prepared to beg the Worths to give her capricious father another chance. Instead, she finds the devastatingly handsome Rhett Worth offering it to her as if he’d planned it all along. And Gabriella, hungry to emerge from her father’s shadow, jumps at it.

Soon they’re in Maui to hunt for the perfect scent…and find it in the tropical breeze that washes across their entwined bodies. Now the pressure is on to capture that passion in a bottle—before they let love complicate the delicate mix. Before a whiff of betrayal threatens to destroy everything.

Romance author Karen Erickson writes what she loves to read — sexy contemporary romance and sensual historical romance. Digitally published since 2006, she currently writes for Samhain Publishing, Entangled Publishing’s Bliss Imprint, Avon Impulse and Carina Press. A native Californian, she lives in the foothills below Yosemite with her husband and three children.

Weekend Reading and a Headache

I've been dealing with a tension headache that just won’t go away. So basically I've felt like crap and haven’t even been up for reading, which is just tragic. I’m hoping this weekend will bring relief from the headache because I've so many great books to read.

I’m looking forward to reading Worth the Challenge by Karen Erickson. I was fortunate to get an advance copy. It’s beckoning me from my kindle to read it. I've been anxiously awaiting Rhett’s story.

Also, I’m enjoying Hanging by a Thread by Sophie Littlefield. Luckily, I can read this one at work during downtime because it’s YA.

ARC Review - A Scandalous Affair by Karen Erickson

A Scandalous Affair is a great, quick read. The plot suits the length of the book. While I was left wanting more of Daphne and Hartwell, their relationship and development of their feelings is believable for the short length.

The love of a good woman is exactly what Hartwell needs to overcome stuttering and step out into the ton. Daphne is the perfect match for him. Her personality is just right to draw out the side of Hartwell he didn’t even know existed.

Hartwell isn’t an alpha male. However, his weaknesses and lack of socializing added to his character. An alpha male wouldn’t have worked as Daphne’s hero. Since she is a widow, she more daring and outspoken for this era.

I recommend this book to any reader looking for a quick historical romance that sizzles.

4 Stars – A Great Read

Note: I requested this book from Net Galley.

Third in the Merry Widows series

From the moment Daphne, Lady Pomeroy, meets the mysterious Marquess of Hartwell at a masquerade ball, she’s determined to seduce him. The handsome, charming man cannot possibly be the cold, calculating lord who Society calls “Black Hart.” Risking everything, the lonely widow invites the elusive Hartwell to her dinner party . . . for two.

Hartwell’s arrogant reputation is built on a lie. For he has a shameful secret that keeps him in the shadows: a stutter—his downfall since childhood. He’d rather keep his mouth shut than look the fool. But he’s shocked to discover that in Daphne’s company—and in her bed—his stutter vanishes.

After one wanton evening together, Daphne is hurt when the lord lives up to his Black Hart name. Yet his reasons for leaving surprise even him. Now he must confess everything or risk losing Daphne forever…

Recommended Read - Worth the Risk by Karen Erickson & Giveaway

Image from Karen Erickson's website
Worth the Risk is book two in the Worth it series. I enjoyed every moment. I hated to see it end, but I desperately wanted to know how Gracie and Hunter would find their HEA.

Gracie is independent and never wants to get close to anyone, ever. Gracie's decisions to push Hunter away stem from her past. A few times I wanted to shake some sense into her. However, in her defense, I knew what was going on in Hunter's mind and how he felt about her. She didn't have that comfort so her hesitant behavior is justified. She is a vibrant character who is strong.

Hunter doesn't understand how his brother, Alex, can settle down with one woman for the rest of his life, which makes it even better as he falls hard for Gracie. He's the take charge type who has everything in control, but he can control nothing with Gracie.

The chemistry between these two heats up the pages. Hunter is downright yummy. They kept me enthralled. I couldn't put the book down.

I love that more of Rhett, the younger brother, is shown. He's grown in maturity from book one, Worth the Scandal. I can't wait for his book, Worth the Challenge. The glimpse of Rhett is just enough to make you eager for his book.

I recommend this book to any reader look for a sexy, contemporary romance. Definitely worth reading.
